About Us

Our Story

Amy Smith’s was founded in Doncaster, in 1986 by Alec Smith and his wife Amy, who had a passion for confectionery, a love of fudge and all things sweet! Starting out with only eight flavours of fudge & five toffees Alec & Amy began supplying local sweet shops before having to sell the business in 1989 due to ill health.

Our family then bought the business and have been producing our award winning confectionery ever since! Owners Andrew & Jackie are our ‘confectionery gurus’ and have overseen the business going from 13 products to in excess of 70 over the course of the last 33 years, as well as building new custom premises in on the outskirts of Bawtry in 2002 and training our small team of longstanding & loyal confectioners. After many summers working at Amy Smiths their son Alex joined the team full time in 2007 and now looks after the day to day running of the business with his wife Katherine also joining the team in 2021.

Our Process

All of our confectionery is handmade and we make all of our products in original copper boiling pans (the oldest one dating back to 1919!) ensuring our products are boiled to perfection & helping to give our confectionery that classic, quality taste. We are also proud to say our confectionery has won several awards over the years, most recently ‘Great Taste Awards’ from the Guild of Fine Food in both 2019 & 2022.
